Overview

Dr. Alpana Agrawal is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Santosh Medical College Hospital, where she also serves as the Medical Superintendent. She holds the following qualifications:

  • MBBS from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, Odisha.
  • DGO from Govt. Medical College, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
  • DNB from Ganga Ram Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, New Delhi (Diplomate of National Board).
  • FICOG: Fellow of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (2018).

 

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE :- Dr. Agrawal has over 25 years of experience as a teacher for undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has acted as a thesis guide for 32 postgraduate students and co-guided two MBBS students for ICMR STS Projects. Additionally, she has guided over 40 research projects conducted by undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Santosh Medical College & Hospital.

Her contributions to the field of medicine are evident through her publications. She has authored 18 articles in international and national journals, as well as one chapter. Furthermore, she has contributed 19 articles to state/institutional journals.

AWARDS :- Dr. Agrawal has received several awards for her achievements, including the FICOG fellowship and the Best Scientific Activity Award by IMA Ghaziabad. She has also been recognized as a transformational leader and received the Performance Excellence Award from Santosh Deemed to be University. Her dedication to healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic led to her receiving a Certificate of Appreciation as a corona warrior by IMA Ghaziabad. Additionally, she is a member of the foundation steering committee of the Santosh University Bioethics Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics.

Throughout her career, Dr. Agrawal has actively participated in conferences, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, and workshops. She has served as faculty in over 150 national and state conferences.

In terms of professional positions, Dr. Agrawal has held various roles within GOGS (Ghaziabad Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society), including twice as an Area Executive, three times as the Scientific Committee Chairperson, once as the Secretary, and once as the Vice President. She has also served as the Editor of Scientific Souvenir on three occasions. Additionally, she organized 17 academic meets and one annual CME as the Secretary of GOGS. She has held positions such as the Scientific Secretary of GOSS-UPCOG mid-term CME in 2015 and the Co-Organizing Secretary of the National Health Skills Conclave at Santosh University in 2016. Dr. Agrawal was also installed as a member of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at Santosh University. Most recently, she served as the Organizing Secretary of UPCOG (UP Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) in 2020.
