Department of Community Medicine deals with the study of health and disease in the defined population in order to identify their health problems and needs, and to plan, implement and evaluate health programs and measures to effectively meet these needs. It reaches out to people to provide services for prevention of disease (such as immunization, Antenatal care, health screening etc.), Promotion of health (such as safe water supply and sanitation, vector control measure, tobacco control policy etc.) and provision of primary medical care (treatment of common ailments such as diarrhea, pneumonia, TB, leprosy, malaria, hypertension etc.), For training in above fields, the Department runs two peripheral health centres, one is Rural Health Training Centre at Jajampatti and another is Urban Health Training Centre at Goverdhan Chauraha, Mathura. Aim of these Community health centres is to provide field exposure to student and to serve the community . Facilities of immunization are available at both the centres.
