The Department of Ophthalmology started functioning from the time of the inception of Krishan Mohan medical college and hospitals, Mathura. Our aim is to provide comprehensive and personalized medical care to the patients and stimulate excellence in teaching and researches. A dedicated team of residents and consultants is available round the clock to cater to the emergencies. Our department provides specialized care to all eye patients in form of super-speciality clinics in cornea, retina and glaucoma. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, high quality, and state-of-the-art eye care. We have had 20 MBBS and 12 PG batches till date that have passed out of this department. We are equipped with all the modern instruments and also specialize in doing other types of intraocular surgeries including glaucoma surgery, pterygium surgery, and also oculoplasty surgeries.

Post graduate training in MS and Diploma Ophthalmology is achieved by a structured program. The residents are involved in clinical work, hands on surgery, presentations of seminars, journals, case presentations and research projects. Regular fully equipped wet lab sessions are held to helps residents to enhance their surgical skills in phacoemulsificaton. Our residents proudly participate in poster and paper presentations in various national and state conferences under the esteemed guidance of the faculty. We have a batch of 30 students in diploma in optometry every year for whom regular ophthalmology classes by faculty and PG students and regular optometry classes by senior optometrist are conducted. They are also rotated in – ward, OT, Minor OT, Refraction and OPD.
